The Parc des Sérigons campsite
In August 1972, Dr. Loubrieu, a Parisian doctor, bought the land of Parc des Sérigons from the town hall of La Roche des Arnauds to turn it into a holiday village.
In January 1984, he sold his holiday village to the town hall of La Roche des Arnauds, which decided to continue operating this holiday site by entrusting the management of this land, which had become a campsite, to managers.
-> A first run of managers for 14 years
-> A second couple of managers for 7 years
-> Nathalie and Sylvain since 2006.
Our story, Nathalie and Sylvain.
After honing his carpentry skills, Sylvain finally decided to work in the textile industry. He spent several years traveling the world for a Belgian company. Then he landed in the Ardèche region, at a small family business where the lovely Nathalie works! 😊
As for Nathalie, passionate about foreign languages, she embarked on a BTS in International Trade which allowed her to work for several years as an export sales assistant in the paper industry, then in textiles and finally in the French porcelain industry.
We have been sharing this adventure with our campers for 20 years.
At the end of 2005, he began his search for a campsite with the aim of becoming self-employed. The town hall of La Roche des Arnauds was looking for a manager for its campsite at that time. The application submitted by Sylvain and Nathalie was accepted, and this was the beginning of their adventure at Parc des Sérigons!
In January 2006, we embarked on setting up our business and undertaking maintenance and renovation work before the campsite opened in April 2006. In October 2006, after our first season, we closed the campsite for a few months' rest. There were two of us, but we knew that in March 2007, we would return to the Hautes-Alpes as a family of three, with our wonderful baby, our son Mathis!
The first few years were difficult; it was necessary to develop a new clientele for this campsite, which had been losing momentum for several years. It was necessary to win back the "old campers" of Sérigons!
Our parents, family, and friends have supported us by helping us with our work for many years. A huge thank you to them!
We almost gave up after the third year, but our accountant at the time convinced us to continue. He knew we were on the right track, that we were very close to making a decent living. And that's exactly what happened! We were finally going to see our campsite's occupancy take off, build customer loyalty, and share wonderful moments with them each season!
For 20 years we have shared this adventure with our campers, some of whom have become our friends, with our teams, with our families, with our friends.
Twenty years of happiness, sometimes with doubts. Twenty years of bonds forged, sometimes with the loss of dear camping friends. Twenty years of questioning and determination. Twenty years of seeing our campers happy. Twenty years during which we've seen children born, grow up, become teenagers! ... then parents... and return to Parc des Sérigons with their own children! What joy!
For 20 years we have been working to make our campsite a place where nature reigns, where simplicity rhymes with friendship, where respect rhymes with conviviality, where living together rhymes with kindness and sharing.
Our beliefs:
Our campsite is a place of closeness and sharing, where we take the time to reconnect, meet, and simply live together. Here, there's no race for the extraordinary: we prioritize a return to the essentials, to nature, and to a gentler pace, accessible to all.
We want to offer families a space where everyone can feel comfortable, reconnect with nature, and reconnect with themselves. A place to slow down, breathe, observe, and fully enjoy the present moment. Our daily commitment is to preserve this spirit of simplicity and well-being in the way we welcome guests, manage, and run the campsite.
Our commitments:
Eco-responsibility is a priority in the management of our campsite, through actions taken regarding water, energy, waste, and biodiversity. We also have a social and local commitment (local employment, promotion of local producers, artisans, and creators).
